Today I make light up Pop-up card.

When you put a gift card in the pocket, the LED turn off, and when you remove the card the LED turn on.

I will make the parts referring to the picture below.

  • 4 1/4" x 11" folded cilantro cardstock.
  • Put the stencil on the white cardstock size 3 3/4" x 5" and color with twisted citron and mowed lawn distress oxide ink.
  • White cardstock size 3 3/4" x 5" for the circuit.
  • Cut the white cardstock size 2 1/2"square with 3/8” wide flap and stamp the bear. Cut out the heart with craft knife.
  • Stamp two bears onto white cardstock. Color with Copic markers and die cut using coordinating dies.
  • Stamp the sentiment on black strip with white ink.
  • 2 1/2" square white vellum. Stamp the sentiment on one of them.
  • 5 mm diameter x 0.5 mm thickness, and 1 cm square x 1 mm thickness Neodymium magnets.

Place the pocket, bear parts and sentiment banner on the cover panel, mark the heart with a pencil.

Cut out the heart with a craft knife.

Put the cover panel on the card base, mark the heart with a pencil.

Mark the position of the LED, battery and pocket. Draw the circuit with a pencil. Draw the positive side circuit to the center of the lower end of the pocket.

Apply the double sided tape on the battery place. And then stick the copper tape on the pre-drawn path. At the battery place, peel off the release paper, stick the negative side copper tape, fold it back and cut it. Leave the positive side copper tape about 3 inches and cut it.

Attach the red LEDs to the copper tape, over the outline. Stick short copper tape on the edges of the LED and effect add-on sticker to reinforce. Place the battery on the copper tape with positive side facing up.

Stick the foam tape around the entire edge of the card base.

Stick the lower edge of the pocket on the cover panel. Cut out a 1/4" diameter hole at the battery place on the cover panel. Make the slit on the center of the lower edge of the pocket.

Stick the vellum on the back side of the cover panel.

Pass the positive side copper tape through the slit, stick the cover panel to the card base.

Stick the round magnet inside the pocket.

Stick the copper tape on the circuit inside the pocket.

Stick the vellum inside of the pocket. Cut out a 1/4" diameter hole at the magnet place on the pocket.

Stick the pocket on the cover panel.

Apply the foam adhesive and square magnet on the backside of the bear parts and sentiment banner.

Stick the bear parts and sentiment banner on the cover panel.

Stick the cover panel on the folded cilantro cardstock.

I finished it!
When you put a gift card in the pocket, the LED turn off, and when you remove the card the LED turn on.
