Today is World Autism Awareness Day. Hundreds of landmarks, around the world, light blue in recognition of people living with autism. And autism-friendly events and educational activities take place to increase understanding and acceptance and foster worldwide support.
As part of that, 2018 Stamping For Autism Awareness Blog Hop hosted by Veronica Zalis and Tenia Nelson will be held. Several of designers have created cards to "light it up blue" for Autism Awareness! Chibitronics is one of many sponsors giving away prizes along this giant hop and link-up but we're also giving away a second starter kit to one random commenter who leaves a comment on Chibitronics designer's blogs! So hop along with us and be inspired to light it up blue!

This time I made this blue bouquet card.
When you pull the pull tab, the two color
LEDs flash alternately.
I'm using these stamp and die.
What you need to make a light up card is like this.
"Chibitronics Pink, Orange, and Green LED Sticker Pack"
"Chibitronics Red, Yellow, and Blue LED Sticker Pack"
"3V coin cell battery (CR2016)"
"Circuit Stickers Effects Add-On"
"5mm wide Copper tape"
"Chibitronics Pink, Orange, and Green LED Sticker Pack"
"Chibitronics Red, Yellow, and Blue LED Sticker Pack"
"3V coin cell battery (CR2016)"
"Circuit Stickers Effects Add-On"
"5mm wide Copper tape"
I'm using these markers and ink.
"Tsukineko memento tuxedo black"
Copic sketch markers (B02, B05, B21, B24, B18, E00)
I'm using these supplies.
"Lawn Fawn blue jay cardstock"
"White cardstock"
"White vellum paper"
I will make the parts referring to the picture below.
- Folded blue jay cardstock.
- Die cut white cardstock with large frame die.
- Vellum paper for the window.
- Two pull tab parts. (0.5 x 2 inch)
- Two switch parts. (0.5 x 0.5 inch)
Cut out the hearts with a craft knife.
Put the cover panel on white cardstock and
mark the lights with a pencil.
Make the circuit.
- Draw three lines at 1/4 intervals from 1/2 inch from the bottom.
- Draw a line of 1 inch length from the 1/4th inch from the right end of the middle line.
- Cut the slit with 1 inch length and 1 mm width with a craft knife.
- Mark the position of the battery, Chibitronics and effect sticker.
- Draw the circuit with a pencil.
- Connect "+" of light blue Chibitronics and "-" of blue Chibitronics to the signal pad of the effects sticker. (Purple line)
- Connect "-" of light blue Chibitronics to "-" pad of the effects sticker and "-" of the battery. (Red line)
- Connect "+" of blue Chibitronics to "+" pad of the effects sticker and "+" of the battery. (Green line)
Place the battery on the copper tape with
the positive side up and adhere the positive side copper tape on the battery.
I'm using three blue and two white (light blue) Chibitronics. Adhere the Chibitronics and effect sticker on the mark.
- Fold square parts in half.
- Place the switch part on the right end of the slit and adhere the copper tape.
- Pull the switch part out of the slit and adhere copper tape around it.
- Insert the switch part into the slit and confirm that the LED turns on.
Adhere the cover panel on the card base.
Adhere the double-sided tape on the back of
the card base.
Adhere the finished parts on two folded
blue cardstock.
When you pull the pull tab, the two color
LEDs flash alternately.
