Today I make light up hot air balloon card.


When you pull the pull-tab, the balloon floats and the LED glows.


I used this stamp.

What you need to make a light up card is like this.
"Pink, Orange and Green LED Stickers Pack"
"3V coin cell battery"(CR2016)
"5mm wide Copper tape"


The used cardstocks are here.
"Neenah 80lb smooth solar white card stock"
"MFT stamps sno cone cardstock"
"White vellum paper"


The used inks and markers are here.
"Tsukineko memento tuxedo black"
"Tsukineko Versamark Emboss Ink Pad"
"Distress Oxide broken china"
"Tsukineko StazOn jet black"
"Heroarts gold embossing powder"


"Copic sketch markers YG06, B00, YR02, V12, R32, Y06, E31"


"Studio Katia clear round drop mix / SSS"


I will make the parts referring to the picture below.


Upper left:White cardstock for circuits.
Upper middle:White cardstock for cover panel.
Upper right:Stamp and gold emboss the balloon onto white cardstock.
                   Coloring with copic sketch.
                   Cut the large flowers and cut out the outline with a craft knife.
Lower left : Die cut a white cardstock with two kinds of frame dies.
                  Two pull-tab parts. (1 x 3.5 inch)
                  Four slider parts. (1 x 3/4 inch)
Lower middle : Die cut a white vellum with cloud die.
                       Stamp the sentiment onto a vellum using StazOn jet black.                                   White vellum for the window.
Lower right : Stamp the hot air balloon using Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black.
                    Cut out the outline with a craft knife.

Coloring a white cardstock with broken china distress oxide ink.


I'm using a cloud shaped part as stencil.

Mark with a pencil in the center of cover panel.
Trace the outline of the balloon with a pencil.


Mark and cut out the 1/32 x 1 1/2 inch slit.


I'm putting cover panel on white cardstock and marking slit with a pencil.


Draw the circuit with a pencil.


Adhere a double-sided tape at the position of the battery and adhere the copper tape on the drawing path.


First of all, past the tip of the copper foil tape through the slit, and adhere 1/2 inch on the back side of the card base.


Place the battery on the copper tape with the positive side up.


Adhere the plus side copper foil tape on the battery.

Make the parts of the pull tab.


Fold rectangular parts in half.
Adhere a double-sided tape on the folded parts.

Adhere the folded parts on the pull tab parts.


Adhere the copper foil tape around the switch part.



Mark the center of the balloon shaped parts.


And mark the rectangular parts.

Mark the Chibitronics and draw the circuit with a pencil.


Mark the small slit and cut out with the craft knife.

Adhere the copper tape on the drawing path.


Adhere a double-sided tape on the rectangular part before adhere the copper tape.

Adhere Pink, Orange and Green color Chibitronics LED stickers.


Fit the switch part into the slit of the cover panel.


Adhere the balloon shaped part on the switch part.


Adhere a foam tape around the card base.


Fit the switch part into the slit of the card base.


Adhere the cover plate to the card base.

Adhere the pull tab on the switch part with double-sided tape.


Adhere vellum paper on the back of the balloon shaped part.


Adhere two balloon shaped parts with foam tape.


Adhere the cloud-shaped parts and scallop frame on the cover panel.


Adhere the cover panel to the light blue card base and adhere the dew drop on the cover panel.
