Chibitronics card for beginners ~Light up shaker card~

Hi, crafty friends!

Today I make light up shaker card for beginners using Chibitronics and Avery Elle Horizontal Stripes Die.

When you push the sentiment, the frame glows.

I'm using these dies and stamps.
"Avery Elle Horizontal Stripes"

"Hero Arts Circle Infinity Die"

"Avery Elle Critter Crew"
"Avery Elle Critter Crew Die"

What you need to make a light up card is like this.
"Chibitronics Red, Yellow, and Blue LED Sticker Pack"
"3V coin cell battery (CR2016)"
"5mm wide Copper tape"

I'm using these papers and foam sheet.
"2mm thick white foam sheet"
"Hot off the press heat resistant acetate"
"80lb white cardstock"
"Lawn Fawn rainbow pack cardstock"
"gold foiled cardstock"

I will make the parts referring to the picture below.

  • 5.5 x 8.5 inch white cardstock
  • Die cut gold foiled paper with sentiment die.
  • Die cut red cardstock with Horizontal Stripes die.
  • Die cut white cardstock with 3 inch circle die.
  • Die cut acetate sheet with 3.5 inch circle die.
  • 3 inch white circle part
  • Die cut foam sheet with 3 and 3.5 inch circle dies.
  • 4.25 x 5.5 inch white cardstock for the circuit
  • 7/8 x 1 3/4 inch white cardstock for the switch
Stamp the animal onto white circle cardstock and color with Copic markers.
(R29, E71, E40, V000, C1, R000, R20, E31, E35, E07, E09)

Adhere the die cut frame on the white cardstock and adhere the sentiment on the cover panel.

Put the cover panel on white cardstock and trace the circle with a pencil. Mark the positions of 0 o'clock, 2 o'clock, 10 o'clock.

Mark the switch in the center of the sentiment.

Draw a 7/8 inch line vertically and horizontally.

Mark the position of the Chibitronics. Mark so that the glowing part of Chibitronics comes to the very end of the line.
Fold 7/8 x 1 3/4 inch rectangular part in half and put it on the position of the switch. And draw the circuit with a pencil.

The “-” point of the Chibitronics needs to connect to the “-” side of the battery.
The “+” side of the Chibitronics needs to connect to the “+” side of the battery.

Place the circle foam sheet on the card base and mark the position of the Chibitronics. Make a notch at the position of the mark.

Make a notch for only one out of two.

Adhere the copper tape on the drawing path.

Adhere the red Chibitronics on the mark.

Adjust so that the glowing part of Chibitronics comes to the very end of the line.

Adhere copper tape on the Chibitronics to reinforce.

Adhere the notched foam sheet on the card base.

Adhere the other circle foam sheet on the notched foam sheet.

Adhere the circle part on the card base.

Put the 3mm thick foam tape around the card base and the switch.

Adjust so that the thickness of the foam tape around the switch will be thicker than the thickness of the battery.

Put the sequin in the frame and adhere the acetate sheet on the foam sheet.

Adhere the cover panel on the card base.

Put the double-sided tape on the back of the card base. Adhere the finished parts on two folded white cardstock.

I finished it!

If you make a battery box referring to yesterday's blog, you can change the batteries.
