Chibitronics card for beginners ~Light up mini tag~

Hi, crafty friends!

Today I make light up mini tag for beginners using Chibitronics and Mama Elephant stamps and dies.

When you push the heart, the Chibitronics glows.

I'm using these stamps and dies.
"Mama Elephant Little Bunny Agenda"
"Mariko Brown Valentine Circle"

"Mama Elephant Inside Pop Celebrations"
"Mama Elephant Madison Avenue"

What you need to make a light up card is like this.
"Chibitronics Red, Yellow, and Blue LED Sticker Pack"
"3V coin cell battery (CR1220)"
"5mm wide Copper tape"

I'm using these papers and foam sheet.
"3mm thick white foam sheet"
"80lb white cardstock"
"80lb kraft cardstock"
"white vellum paper"

I will make the parts referring to the picture below.

  • Die cut kraft cardstock with two types of tag dies.
  • Die cut white cardstock with the tag die.
  • Die cut 3mm thick foam sheet with the tag die.
  • vellum paper
  • 1/2 x 1 inch switch part
  • pink heart part
Adhere the tag with window on the white tag.

Stamp the sentiment onto the tag with window and stamp the rabbit onto the white tag.

Color the rabbit with Copic markers. Cut out the heart with a craft knife.

Adhere the heart part on the tag.

Put the colored tag on the white tag and mark the position of the light.

Mark the switch in the center of the heart.

The size of the switch is 1/2 inch square.

Mark the position of the Chibitronics.
Fold 1/2 x 1 inch rectangular part in half and put it on the position of the switch and draw the circuit with a pencil.

The “-” point of the Chibitronics needs to connect to the “-” side of the battery.
The “+” side of the Chibitronics needs to connect to the “+” side of the battery.

Adhere the copper tape on the drawing path.

Adhere the pink Chibitronics on the mark.

Place the battery in the switch with the positive side up.

Adhere copper tape on the Chibitronics to reinforce.

Adhere the kraft tag on the back of the circuit tag.

Adhere vellum paper on the back of the colored tag.

Cut out the inside of the foam sheet with a craft knife and adhere the foam sheet on the circuit tag. Put the 3mm thick foam tape around the switch.

Adjust so that the thickness of the foam tape around the switch will be thicker than the thickness of the battery.

Adhere the colored tag on the foam sheet.

Pass the twine through the hole.

I finished it!
